I recently graduated from University of California, SantaBarbara with a degree in Business Economics with an Emphasis in Accounting and a minor in Philosophy. I am currently working on my Certification to be a Public Accountant while planning to go back to graduate school in 2012. I would like to thank Giving Back for providing me with the relief of some of the financial burdens that come with going to college and allowing me to focus more on my studies. Due to my lack of stress I was able to graduate from my University with an overall G.P.A of 3.45. The Giving Back Corporation is a large help for those students in need and have a tremendous effect.

I graduated from Loyola Marymount University last May with aBachelor of Arts in Urban Studies. I will be attending Califomia State University, Northridge this fall to pursue a masters of public administration. I want to thank Ken Sagoes and the Giving Back Corporation for their monetary and emotional support they gave me when I first began college. My grandmother with whom I lived with had recently passed away and my family was facing monetary constraints trying to prepare for her burial. The scholarship I received helped me focus on my new transition to college. instead of me worrying about how I would be able to pay for college supplies. Thank you again Mr. Sagoes, and the Giving Back Corporation, the support you gave me were greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten.

The Giving Back scholarship provided a much needed aid to my scholastic endeavors while at Pepperdine University. The scholarship provided the necessary funds to purchase books and supplies for my freshman through senior years. Without this scholarship it would have been very hard for me to flourish in my academics. Books are a vital part of a student's college life, and without having the funds readily available to purchase whatever books are necessary, it becomes very easy to fall behind in course work. Through the Giving Back scholarship I have been blessed to receive a top notch education at one of America's most prestigious universities. This scholarship has taught me that giving is just as great a joy as receiving. Because of this scholarship I decided in my junior that I too would give back to my community and chose the occupation of an educator. I now teach 6th grade mathematics in the inner city of Los Angeles at View Park Preparatory Accelerated Charter. I will also be finishing up my M.A. in Teacher Leadership at Vanguard University of Southern California this May. The Giving Back scholarship changed my life, and with the assistance of others who decide to do the same, it will help many inner city youth to come."...freely you received, freely give."- Matthew 10:8
